Just found your site and am enjoying it very much. My first trip to the Big O was last march 2009, with very poor results because of much windy weather. I am coming back to the Big O in January of 2010 for a full month and i would really like to learn how to fish that lake. I am a true amature, and only recently i have determined that i would like to learn how to use the casting reels that i see all you pros using. For the life of me i can not get the hang of using one without getting alot of bird nests. Can you please give me any tips on using them
Thanks,
Denny
ps i may be interested in a trip with you as well. i will be staying in the crooked hook campground
My brother and I had the pleasure of fishing with you almost 2 years ago now when the lake was ridiculously low. We were talking about the experience the last night and how much we enjoyed our day on Lake Okeechobee with you. Though we didn't catch "the big one" we caught dozens of bass all bigger than 2 lbs and really enjoyed sponging off of and fishing WITH you. We started off with a few shiners and withing a half hour convinced you to take us somewhere to fish artificials. I still remember my brother asking you to fish with us and we really had a great day. I have since moved to St Charles, MO where I am from (was in Davie, FL) before and we have the fever as the weather is finally warming up.
Thanks for the memories, and we will definitely be doing it again in the near future if you'll put up with us again!
Mark, It was good to see you at the Stren as well. I'm impressed with the site and appreciate the invite. Look forward to staying in contact and seeing you again.
